One of the reasons, is because by and large, the world in which we live, has become a very individualistic society. But the church, biblically, was never meant to be individualistic. The church is corporate. It’s about family. It’s about Father’s and son’s, mother’s and daughter’s, brother’s and sister’s, who do life together, journey together through the good and bad, have fun together, and worship Jesus together!

James gives a series of analogies to describe the tongue, but of course, he is not writing about that muscle in our mouths he is referring to what it’s connected to. Our tongues are connected directly to our hearts – or to put it another way, our words are an exact representation of our souls. The words and language we use are a precise and accurate barometer of what is going on inside our souls.

You are saved only by God’s grace. You cannot earn or work for your salvation. It is a free-gift PAID IN FULL by the FINISHED WORK of Jesus on the cross. This should lead to a changed life and should produce some fruit. Let your FAITH result in ACTION, for faith without action is dead and useless.
