SEPT 2007

Dear praying friends

Thank you for remembering our requests in prayer this month, we remember you and give God thanks for your faithfulness.

TANZANIA , Mwanza –  We are waiting to hear about the acceptance of some registered changes to Living Waters Fm, Memorandum of Understanding.  Please pray that these changes will be accepted by the relevant authorities in accordance with God’s will.  Lord willing, the station could be established in October, please pray for the Galcom engineer who will be installing the station and pray for Galcom and RAN when we prepare equipment to be sent for the station.

Singida – Radio Uzima have replaced their 250w Fm transmitter with a 1kw and HCJB Global are computer plotting whether their broadcasts can be heard in Singida so that the signal can be more widely relayed to that rural area using the 250w off of the 1Kw transmissions.  If this is possible it will only require a transmission base in Singida transmitting off of an existing  mast, to rebroadcast from Dodoma .  Pray that God will make a way for more people in Singida area to hear the gospel.

Pray for us at RAN as we work through applications from other parts of Tanzania .

MALI   Continue to pray for the request for 50 stations in Mali as well as radio training. Pray that God will make a way for all this to happen and give us, partners and the local church there wisdom and favour to see these radio stations established and trained to effectively broadcast the Gospel.

SUDAN –We have been asked to assist with stations in Sudan , we had to decline one request since there is already radio work in that town but 2 other towns that do not have Christian radio have been identified, please pray for the radio planter and the local church as they prepare for Christian broadcasting. Pray that God will lead RAN into how to best become involved.

ZAMBIA – we have been following up with an application for a youth station (18-25yrs) in Lusaka .  They have been referred to an existing Christian station who are willing to meet and discuss with them the need for a youth station or for catering more to the needs of Christian youth.  Pray for these meetings that God will direct the outcome.

Africa by Radio – Brazzaville , CONGO . Meetings take place 24-28 Sept, 2007.  There has been an initial encouraging response from local church leaders to attend a meeting  to discuss the possibility of working together as AbR and in partnership with them to establish the first Christian radio station in Brazzaville .  Prayer is invited for God to lead and bring about the level of co-operation that is necessary to accomplish this initiative.

But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him.  2 Cor 2 v 14.

God bless, Sandy

The aims and objectives of the station are:
- To preach the word of God (Evangelisation)
- To fight AIDS

- To promote Peace and reconciliation

Only Christ who is touched with the feelings of our infirmities can truly bring about inner peace and healing to people who are deeply scarred through experiences and even atrocities that they have had in the past. As Umucyo Community Radio reaches out to the Rwandan people bringing the “light” of the Gospel to them, do pray that God will enable the staff to be His spokespersons and that He will provide for all that they need to do the work in an emerging economy
