We all get excited about Christmas for many reasons – many reasons that are good – family time, showing our love for one another through gift giving, super yummy food! These are all great things, especially the yummy food! But if that is all we celebrate… we miss the Point of Christmas, and I don’t want you to miss that!

Don’t miss the presence. What do I mean by that? Well, I’m talking here about God’s presence. I think the reason a lot of people miss Christmas, and miss God, is because they don’t really have a understanding of God’s presence. They get more caught up in the presents, than the presence. And I really do get why… I understand. In a world where people want to see to believe, I understand why so many people miss the presence of God in their lives.

When we talk about Joy, we often don’t fully understand it. Almost as though we have forgotten about it.
It’s almost as if some of us can’t relate to the word. As if life has become so serious that joy is foreign to us. Its not a reality for many of us.

We live in an age of information never seen before in history. Google is available to give you information on almost every conceivable thing in the Universe and communication has never been so accessible. Over the last few years Email, Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter and so much more are a part of everyday life. Walk through any mall or sit in any restaurant and you will see heads down, eyes focused and thumbs twitching as people bash out message after message. It seems as if there is a deep inner and insatiable need to communicate through messaging.

Friends. Here’s what you don’t want to miss – Your Saviour has been born. As the year rapidly draws to a close, it’s a good time to reflect. It’s a good time to listen to God. It’s a good time to remember how God has kept His promises. Will you stop and be still? Will you look to Jesus? And will you listen to Him this Christmas time? Don’t be like the innkeeper who was too busy… don’t be like the religious who were too familiar… and don’t be like Herod who was too fearful. Don’t miss this moment!
